Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society that is open to students in all disciplines. Phi Kappa Phi recognizes the achievements of the most outstanding students in every school and college at UW-Madison.
The UW-Madison chapter of Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1920 and has had a continuous presence on this campus ever since. Each fall we send membership invitations to the top 10% of graduate students, the top 10% of seniors and the top 7.5% of second-semester juniors in each school and college. In April we hold our annual induction ceremony for new members.
Student members of the UW-Madison chapter of Phi Kappa Phi are eligible to apply for our chapter’s Theodore W. Zillman Summer Research Awards, as well as for the national Phi Kappa Phi organization’s Fellowships and Awards. Visit the Phi Kappa Phi national website for other benefits of Phi Kappa Phi membership.
The UW-Madison chapter feels that membership in Phi Kappa Phi should not be forfeited due to financial hardship. If the membership fee is a hardship, contact Debbie Cole at (608) 265-2428 or email firstname.lastname@example.org detailing your circumstances.
